Tank Top Simple Creatures Custom Jazzmasters

$32.99

This is a sharpie sketch of Simple Creatures Custom Jazzmasters. Simple Creatures are a trash pop/synth pop duo consisting of Mark Hoppus from blink-182 and Alex Gaskarth from All Time Low, who formed in early 2019. Mark plays the white Jazzmaster on the left, while Alex plays the black Jazzmaster on the right during certain songs.

Description

These Custom Jazzmasters were built by Michael Schulz, Artist Relations Manager at . There are several ways that these Jazzmasters are custom. First, their bodies are custom-cut to not accommodate a traditional horseshoe-shaped tremolo assembly, which pretty much all Jazzmasters have. Their bodies were specifically built to accommodate Evertune G Model bridges, which surprisingly, are meant for Gibson guitars. Along with their body cutouts and bridge types, these Jazzmasters have custom pickguards and pickup configurations. Although the bodies and pickup configurations on these Jazzmasters are custom, surprisingly, the necks are not. In fact, the necks are American Professional Jazzmaster necks.

The white Jazzmaster has only one Seymour Duncan zebra humbucker pickup positioned at the bridge, along with one volume knob and a black custom pickguard to accommodate the pickup configuration. This configuration creates a limiting, monotone sound that allows the tone to be controlled from only an amplifier and not the instrument itself, since there is no tone knob on the guitar. While performing live shows with Simple Creatures, Mark Hoppus plays this Jazzmaster during certain songs where Alex Gaskarth plays the white Jaguar Bass.

The black Jazzmaster shares similar features to the white Jazzmaster, including the same type of body cutout and bridge type. However, it has some additional key features. The black Jazzmaster has a white custom pickguard which accommodates not one, but two Seymour Duncan zebra humbucker pickups positioned both at the bridge and neck, along with a volume knob and a toggle switch for switching between the pickups to get different sounds and tones. Alex Gaskarth plays this Jazzmaster throughout the majority of live shows with Simple Creatures, especially during songs where Mark Hoppus plays the black Jaguar Bass.

Overall, these are the custom Jaguar Basses used in Simple Creatures.
